Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility IKEM represents scientific expertise and conducts research on behalf of key actors of the German energy & mobility transformation ("Energiewende"). The research includes many current subjects, ranging from energy storage to autonomous driving. As and independent institute associated to the University of Greifswald and a public charity, young researchers are encouraged to improve contributing research work on legal, economic and political frameworks

The trainee will assist the team working on the decarbonization of energy using sectors of different countries worldwide. Depending on the qualification and interest of a candidate, the assistance will relate to such thematic tasks as the evaluation of energy challenges in energy using sectors; the evaluation of opportunities for decarbonization, e.g. energy service sufficiency, end-use energy efficiency improvement, infrastructure efficiency improvement, sector coupling opportunities, etc.; evaluation of country- and local- level climate and energy efficiency policies and programs; the evaluation of financing energy efficiency and climate actions. Everyday tasks will include assistance in data collection and analysis including desk research, review of data and literature, personal interviews, and surveys; assistance in the writing and editing IKEM products including reports, journal publications, presentations, and other products; assistance in event preparation and organization; and overall general support to the IKEM’s team.Organising ELSA Group
